About Unidos Healing Counseling

Land Acknowledgment and Commitment to Social Justice

Unidos Healing Counseling acknowledges our presence and work on the ancestral territory of the Piscataway Conoy Tribal Nation and Nacotchtank (Anacostan) Tribal Nation. Recognizing the importance of sharing the comprehensive history of this land, spanning its past, present, and future occupants, we highlight the prominence of the Piscataway Tribe, the largest and most influential tribal nation in the region between the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River. Additionally, we acknowledge the Nacotchtank, an indigenous Algonquian people of the 17th century residing in the Washington, D.C. area, with their village situated within the present boundaries of the District of Columbia at the confluence of the Potomac and Anacostia rivers.

As a private practice dedicated to social justice, we stand against oppression in all its manifestations. Our commitment is to foster a diverse, just, and inclusive environment for everyone.
